MS Riem's main park: room with views
Located in the development's southern reaches, MS Riem's park is
large. It extends over 200 hectares. That makes it the third largest
green area - after the English Garden and the park surrounding Nymphenburg
palace - in Munich.
Designed by Giles Vexland, one of France's foremost landscape architects,
the park is the place where the persons living in the development's
apartment buildings and townhouses come to stroll and to enjoy the
views provided by its carefully arrayed assemblage of trees and
shrubs. As is the case with the flower-bestrewn meadows, this greenery,
in turn, is the home of a wide variety of animals.
The park's design also features a lake (popular with local swimmers)
and two hills, each equipped with a tobogganing run. A beer garden,
nurseries, orchards, a super-duper playground and other items have
been placed on the park's border with the development's residential
quarter.
