The garden of the cells
Some of us have glimpsed the interiors of plant cell through microscopes.
Many of us will soon have the chance to walk around these interiors,
or, rather, their renderings in bushes, flowers and other greenery.
The 12 cells making up the garden range in size from 600 square
meters to 1200 square meters. Embedded in a sea of flowers and separated
from each other by gravel mounds up to 2.5 meters high, the cells
allow us to see, smell and hear how plants function.
Each of the cells has its own house of knowledge. These cube-shaped
houses use the most imaginative of ways to show the working of nature.
Subjects covered include down-home visits to water cycles, climate
mechanisms, a molehills and nests.
