An abundance of apartments,
a ton of townhouses!

By the end of 2000, some 600 apartments and townhouses had been completed in MS Riem's initial residential area, which is located in the project's south central reaches, and is flanked by schools and green areas. The subway and bus stops are a few minutes' walk away. The path to them passes through what will soon be a major shopping, dining and entertainment center. It is set for completion in 2003. A further 230 housing units will be completed in 2001 in the residential area. Its development will be concluded by 2005. The area will then have no less than 2400 housing units. The completion of development has been timed to coincide with the holding of Germany's Federal Garden Exhibition, one of the world's largest horticultural events.

The planning of MS Riem's second residential area is proceeding rapidly. To have the same dimensions as the first one, the area will be located immediately adjacent to the Messestadt Ost subway station. The plan of construction for the area is set to be finalized by mid-2001. This will enable the selling of the area's plots to be commenced in 2002. Doing such will ensure that the second residential area's housing units will be put up for sale and rent in 2005. There will thus be no interruption in the flow of housing units coming on to the market.
