Messestadt Riem's first American company!

TriQuint sets up design center in Munich

(October 1, 2002) Another major company has joined Messestadt Riem's budding high-tech cluster. The Oregon-based TriQuint Semiconductor has announced plans to set up a design center in Riem. To employ some 50 staff members, the center will be located in the Nemetschek office complex
(Konrad-Zuse-Platz 1).

TriQuint develops and supplies microelectronic components manufactured from gallium arsenide, indium phosphide and other advanced materials, and forming part of wireless phone, optical networks and devices and systems. Listed on the NASDAQ, TriQuint already has design centers in the USA and Taiwan. The center in Riem will also serve as TriQuint's European headquarters.

"TriQuint's decision provides further proof of how attractive our city is for the world's high-techs," comments Dr. Reinhard Wieczorek, the head of Munich's business development department.

This holds particularly true for the American high-techs, of which there are now ... in the greater Munich area.
