ICM: one of the world's top four
congress centers

(20.7.05) Munich's ICM International Congress Center is now Germany's number one. In 2004, the center, which forms part of the city's trade fair complex, was the venue for 142 events. Occupying 578,000 square meters, these events were attended by 165,000 participants – the highest total in the country and the fourth largest in the world, reports the International Congress & Convention Association (ICCA). According to the ICCA, ICM has maintained its top four ranking.
Explanations for the congress center's success are its flexibility of configuration, close working relationship with the adjoining trade fair center, attractiveness of Munich as a business destination and the facility's capaciousness. The ICM is capable of staging events attended by up to 7,000 persons and occupying 8,000 square meters of exhibition space.
