(April 22, 2004) Time for a celebration!
The construction of the exterior walls and roofs of Messestadt
Riem’s ecumenical center has been completed. The remaining
interior work will take another year.
Unique about the €20 million center is that it houses two
churches, both of which will be commissioned on May 4, 2005.
Seating 250, the Church of St. Florian will serve the local Catholic
community. It will also feature a daycare center, a house for the
resident priest, and a facility for teenagers.
The Lutheran church will seat one hundred. It will also have a
community center, a room for families, parish offices and a house
for the pastor.
Most visible feature of the center will be its tower, 38 meters
high and containing no less than five bells.
