Synergy Online AG Synergy Online, the Munich-based developer of buildings configured for high-techs, launched the construction of a DM 170 million office complex in September, 2000. Upon completion in 2003, its 33,000 square meters of office space will house up to 40 high-techs, which will employ some 1,200 persons. The complex is located on a site, 16,500 square meters large, in Messestadt Riem. Munich's easternmost borough is now the venue of one of Europe's largest redevelopment projects. |

| Some 556 hectares large, Messestadt Riem has nine individual areas of commercial development. They cover an expanse of 413,177 square meters, and will yield 515,000 square meters of utilizable space. The plot to be occupied by Synergy AG's complex is in the northern reaches of the project. The plot's current 'resident': the 'Coat-of-Arms-Hall'. This building is well known to millions of air passengers. For more than five decades, it served as the main departure hall of Munich Airport, which was moved in 1992 from Riem to a site some 14 kilometers to the north. | ||

The Hall will be redeveloped into a center of inter-corporate communications. It will serve the complex arising around it. The complex itself is to feature a state-of-the-art communications backbone and other in-building infrastructure sought by high-techs. The complex's distinctive design was created by Perret, Reichert, Pranschke, Maluche. The architects won a 15-group competition. To make sure that start-ups are well-represented in these companies' ranks, 20% of the complex's space has been reserved for small-sized (between 200 square meters and 500 square meters) offices. Synergy Online was founded in 1996 by Michael Schwarz and Dr. Alexander Rosa-Alscher. The company has a similar complex in Leipzig. A building located in downtown Munich is currently under construction; with a number of others to follow. |
