Cornerstone laid for SynergyOnline's office complex in MS Riem

Munich

In a ceremony attended by 150 businesspersons, municipal officials and local residents, the cornerstone for SynergyOnline's DM 170 million office complex was laid today. Located in Munich's MS Riem area of development, the complex will provide its tenants, expected to be primarily high-tech companies, with some 33,000 square meters of office space.

Designed by the Munich-based Perret, Reichert, Pranschke, Maluche firm of architects, the complex will be constructed on a plot 16,000 square meters large. Also entailed in the project is the revamping of the "Hall of Emblems". Located at the center of the plot, the Hall served as the point of entry to Munich's airport, which was moved in 1992 from what is now MS Riem.

"Placed under the protection of Germany's landmark scheme, the hall is to be transformed into a center of intra-complex communication and of cultural activities," explained Michael Schwarz, CEO of Synergy Online, a specialist in the development of high-tech office complexes.

Located across the street from Munich's fairgrounds, the complex is set to be completed by the end of 2002. "A large number of companies have already expressed an interest in taking up space in the complex," noted Schwarz.
