(July 20, 2003) There will be a world of fine eating in Riem Arcades'
Food Land. To be located in the middle of the mall's ground floor,
Food Land will feature two bakeries, a butcher, and shops offering
wine, seafood, produce, and Italian and Levantine specialties.
Also in Food Land: an Asian foods specialist and an Italian café.
The latter will have a terrace offering views of the Alps.
Complementing Food Land will be the Bavarian, Italian, Mexican
and Japanese restaurants located in the mall's northern end, which
faces Willy-Brandt-Platz, which is Messestadt Riem's central square.
The eateries' clientele will be comprised of the shoppers visiting
the Euro 500 million mall, to be Munich's second largest upon completion
in Spring, 2004, and of the people staffing the offices, movies,
hotels and other establishments in the mall.
Although its opening is still six months in the offing, 97% of
the mall's 119,000 square meters has already been taken up. In the
mall will be 160 stores, a range of restaurants and cafés,
a multiplex cinema, a 280-room hotel, and a large number of offices,
apartments and parking spaces.
