The Munich-based Schneider GmbH has won the 2001 installment of
MS Riem's 'Developer's Prize', conferred by the municipality of
Munich--represented by MSR's MRG development corporation--on the
builders of the structure evincing the highest standards of architectural
design and of ecological and energy efficiency.
Located in MS Riem's eastern business park, the building is used
by the Munich-based Schneider GmbH for its business and storage
operations. Created by the Ottobrunn-based Heym firm of architects,
the structure's design features a simplicity and directness of form.
Built into the structure are systems minimizing its consumption
of energy, water and other resources.
The organizers of the competition, now in its second year, conferred
an honorable mention upon Nemetschek's office building, constructed
by Concentra GmbH & Co. KG and situated in MS Riem's northwestern
business park.
