Final approval of masterplan for Riem Arcades |

(April 18, 2002) The last of the necessary official approvals has been secured for Riem Arcades' masterplan. This marks an important highlight in the development of the Arcades, currently one of Europe's biggest construction projects, and soon to be tone of Germany's largest malls. Nearing completion is the work on the mall's foundation, which has a volume of 530,000 cubic meters (380 m long, 140 m wide and 12 m deep). Located at the geographic center of MS Riem, the 119,000 square meters of stores (160 all told), restaurants, cinemas, hotels apartment, offices, recreational facilities and much more. Although its opening is a year and a half in the offing, the mall
has already achieved a number of major successes. Arcades manager
Jochen Czub reports that some 70% of its space has already been
rented out. Not bad for a development which won't be completed until
