MS Riem to get education complex

July 13, 2001

Jan Spreen, an architect based in Stuttgart, has been awarded the commission to design MS Riem's education complex. The announcement that Spreen had beat out 391 competitors was made today by the municipality of Munich, which is building the DM 84 million complex on a site adjoining the district's Messestadt Ost subway station.

To be attended by 750 students, the complex will open its doors in autumn, 2004. It will comprise elementary and special-education day care centers and schools, a gymnasium, an institute of vocational training and a number of other facilities. Among them: a center providing IT services and links to schools located on Munich's east side.
