(May 27, 2003) In a ceremony attended by Edmund Stoiber, Bavaria's
governor, and numerous other leading figures from the political,
business and academic community, the European School of Management
and Technology (ESMT) officially commissioned its campus in Munich.
Offered at the ESMT's Munich campus, which is located in Messestadt
Riem, in academic year 2003 are fifteen seminars. In addition to
inculcating the principles of corporate management and human resources
development, the courses focus on the relationships existing between
business success and technological advances. These seminars are
being attended by executives and public officials.
Many of these executives work for Allianz, BMW, DaimlerChrysler,
E.On, MAN, Siemens, ThyssenKrupp and for the other companies sponsoring
the new school of management studies, which is also staging interdisciplinary
research projects.
Intended to be Germany's answer to Wharton and INSEAD and headed
by Derek F. Abell, the ESMT maintains its main campus in Berlin.
