Helicopters get assembly of National Garden Festival's PeopleMover off to flying start

(December 8, 2003) It was a high point in the preparations for Germany's National Garden Festival, to be held in Munich's Messestadt Riem district from April 28 – October 9, 2005.

A large-sized helicopter helped install several of the 24 pylons holding up the Festival's 3 kilometer-long PeopleMover track. The skyway will go into operation on April 28, 2004 – a year before the Festival itself opens its door.
One of the world's largest horticultural exhibitions, the Festival will be highly affordable for the multitudes expected to visit it. A daily pass will cost Euro 14. Senior citizens, students and a number of others will pay only Euro 12; children six years or older, Euro 3. Included in these prices are the fares for public transport.
