(January 30, 2004) Messe
München GmbH is earmarking 500,000 square metres of exhibition
space for bauma 2004. This will be the biggest bauma ever. From
29 March to 4 April 2004 the halls and open-air site at the New
Munich Trade Fair Centre will be a giant showcase for the latest
products from the international construction machinery and equipment
and building materials machinery industry. A new feature of bauma
in 2004 is bauma mining, a platform exclusively for the mining
machinery industry.
At bauma 2004, Messe München is setting up an extended open-air
site on the north side of the exhibition centre. This additional
space brings the total for bauma 2004 to around 500,000 square
metres. In comparison to bauma 2001, this is an increase of around
50,000 square metres. All 16 exhibition halls (total: 160,000 m²)
and the entire open-air site (340,000 m²) with two temporary
halls at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre are now fully booked.
For the first time this year the fair features a section devoted
entirely to mining machinery and technology. This section, called
bauma mining, is attracting mining machinery manufacturers from
all over the world between 29 March and 4 April 2004. They are
coming to present their latest products and services in open-cast
and underground mining, conveyor and handling technology, geology,
geophysics, exploration and consulting.
On the expanded open-air site bauma mining takes up a large section
incorporating both outdoor exhibition space and hall space. It
is located in a very well frequented part of the exhibition centre,
close to the main entrance on the northern side. Because of this
central position, by a main entrance, and its proximity to about
one third of the total parking spaces, exhibitors at bauma mining
can look forward to excellent visitor frequency. All the usual
exhibitor facilities and infrastructure are of course supplied
to the same high standards as elsewhere on the site. More than
130 companies will be exhibiting in the bauma mining section, approximately
400 other firms exhibit their innovative mining technology in different
sections at bauma. Joint stands have been booked in bauma mining
by the German regions of Saarland and North Rhine-Westphalia, and
by the countries of Great Britain, Canada and the US.
Exhibitors at bauma mining will be putting on a comprehensive
and concentrated display of mining equipment and technology which
is set to benefit from significant synergies arising from the tremendous
attraction of bauma and the international scope of this world fair.
bauma 2004, from 29 March to 4 April 2004, is on course for a new
all-time record, with 2,605 exhibitors from 45 countries.
