Germany's National Garden Festival 2005 - one thousand days and counting

(August 18, 2002) One thousand more days until Germany's National Garden Festival 2005 opens its doors. The largest of its kind in the world, the exhibition will be held in Munich's Messestadt Riem district. It will occupy a site some 130 hectare large.

Forecast to attract four million visitors, the exhibition will feature a sumptuous array of flowers, shrubs and trees. This flora will be viewed by land (via the paths traversing the site), water (from the boats bobbing on the local lake) and by air. An Austrian company is constructed a high-in-the-sky people mover.
